HOMESTEAD, Fla. – Colin Braun's capped his season as the 2008 Raybestos Rookie of the Year with a 14th-place finish in Friday's NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series season-ending Ford 200 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
Braun, driver of the No. 6 Roush Fenway Racing Ford, finished the season with three top-five and eight top-10 finishes in 25 Truck starts. Braun's best finish of the season was third in the O'Reilly Auto Parts 250 at Kansas Speedway on April 26.
“We’re definitely excited about Raybestos Rookie of the Year," Braun said. "That was obviously a goal when we started the season out so it’s good to get that. We’re looking forward to building up for next year and come back a little bit stronger there at the end of the year."
Braun considers the experience he gained this season invaluable toward his future in NASCAR, especially racing against such veterans as Johnny Benson and Ron Hornaday.
“I think the biggest thing is just racing with the veteran drivers and trying to earn their respect and racing them hard but racing them smart, patient," Braun said. "I think that was the thing I really struggled with at the start of the year. I tried to work on that towards the end of the year and hopefully got better at it.”
